2023 Pushcart Prize Nominees

We love everything we publish in our issues of After Happy Hour (obviously–that’s why we publish it!) so it’s always hard to pick just 6 pieces to nominate for every year’s Pushcart Prize. After much deliberation and debate, though, we are thrilled to announce our nominees from 2023:

From Issue 20 (summer 2023):

“Memory of a Fish” by David Coyle
“A woman, whole” by Cory Henniges
“The Garden” by Morgan Musselman

From Issue 21 (winter 2023):

“Lil Has a Surprise for You” by Kait Quinn
“A Matter of Time” by Jay Randall
“Sick Days” by Kasey Butcher Santana

…congratulations and good luck to our nominees! You can check out the Issue 20 pieces on our website now. We’ll be releasing Issue 21 on December 5th, so stop back in a couple weeks to read the nominated works (and the other delightful prose, poetry, and art in our forthcoming issue!).
